About the Author
Dr. William (Bill) Deutsch is an aquatic ecologist who has spent more than 30 years traveling around Alabama, learning and teaching about its rivers, and interacting with river-loving Alabamians from all walks of life. He and his wife Janet live in the woods on Hodnett Creek near Auburn, Alabama.
